CityMD Ramsey Urgent Care - New Jersey

Not sure of all the negative reviews, but I’ve always had a great experience. Particularly today, I got in a little after 9am with a handful of people ahead of me and was out by 10am. Dr. Nguyen and staff were friendly and patient. She took the time to understand my issue. I had previously went to a different urgent care for this same cold and got no help at all. Should have came here first!

I had a wonderful experience at the City MD Ramsey Urgent care. Everything was very efficient and everyone was very kind and professional. I was in and out in an hour including having X-rays. The doctor was wonderful and explained everything. I actually had to followup with an orthopedist and they set everything up for me. I had my doctor’s visit today and I am very happy with the results. Very positive experience!!

I had a terrible experience today. I came in sick and signed in was charged the incorrect amount. I was sent to wait 15 minutes each time checking in there was another 15 minutes until an hour and half later I still was not seen. The management is horribly run. There was only one person at the desk and no communication system to inform patients of wait times. The waiting room was crammed with coughing patients who should be waiting in a car and given a phone call. I had to walk out and was not even seen, but charged of course. Please save your time and effort and go somewhere else.

I try not to write bad reviews but instead, go somewhere else. This visit was unbelievably horrible. It was so bad, I actually said to my mom, “this has to be a joke, we’re being punked.” Nope…it was real. First of all, we were told the wait would be 30-40 minutes. We actually waited for 2 hours and saw many people with similar ailments come in after us and leave while we were still sitting there. We finally got a room and waiting another 30 minutes, this nasty man, Dr. Holenback came in the room. You would have thought he was dealing with an inmate. He was nasty, rough when doing the exam and refused to listen to me when I said that she needed an antibiotic to get rid of this infection. Before he even looked at her he said that her symptoms show a virus and I’m not prescribing an antibiotic. When he finished looking and listening. He stood back and said, “She has a virus but the virus brought on an infection.” It took every ounce of humility he could muster, to say that she needed an antibiotic. This guy was so nasty, sarcastic and definitely should not be working with sick people. The girl, Rachel that works with him was an absolute sweetheart.

So apparently the doctor didn’t really listen to me as I told her what I was taking and she called in the nasal spray that I was already taking. So now I have her name and I looked her up and she has nothing but negative reviews about her, all saying the same thing. Hello, I just wanted to post about an unpleasant experience experience I had today. I have been sick for 2 1/2weeks with sinus symptoms and a bad cough. I went to CVS minute clinic on Saturday where I was diagnosed with a sinus infection and ear infection. I was giving antibiotics for only 5 days, which is not a typical coarse. So I went to City MD in Ramsey today because I’m still not 100% and I have to get on a plane tomorrow. I should say that I am a nurse and very rarely go to the dr, I generally wait until I’m extremely ill. I go in, extremely my symptoms and length of time. I explain what I am on and my concerns. The dr was extremely rude, barely examined me. She got in my face and told me that it was viral and that she’s not a dispensary. She treated me like a drug addict. Telling me that I should be taking 800mg of ibuprofen every 6hrs for the ear pain and sinus pressure and it was basically my fault that I wasn’t feeling better because I wasn’t do that. I’ve never been treated so poorly before in my life. I get we as healthcare workers are overworked, but that is not a way to treat a patient at all.
